Welcome to Music Center of the Northwest!
Since 1989, Music Center of the Northwest has served as Seattle’s community music school, welcoming and nurturing students of all ages, all levels of skill, and all backgrounds, regardless of financial means. Each year more than 500 students attend Music Center. They work with exceptional faculty, dedicated to providing every student with an individualized program, including unique ensemble and performance opportunities. These principles have guided Music Center and we have truly become a place where musicians gather to embrace their creative heart.
I hope you will join us and discover for yourself what makes Music Center so special. Each year we work to improve our program and I am certain that whether you have been at Music Center for years or are a first time student, you will find new challenges, new friends, and a renewed` creative spirit. From six-month old students and their caregivers in Music Together® classes to “eighty-plus” year olds in the Music Center Big Band, our students take part in a program designed to provide a well-rounded, quality musical education.
There are other ways to get involved at Music Center too! As a non-profit organization, we could not survive without the help and support of our many friends. Volunteer opportunities are available for people who would like to help organize concerts and events, serve on a committee or even become a member of our Board of Directors. Donations to Music Center help us to keep the costs of our programs reasonable and provide financial assistance to those who could not otherwise participate. Through all of these efforts and activities, students, staff, parents, and friends are part of a caring and enduring community.
