William Carlisle has been an integral part of the Seattle jazz and rock scene for the past 8 years. Playing Saxophone, Clarinet, Guitar and of course ukulele. This multi-instrument approach lead to a unique perspective on music performance and instruction. William recently graduated from the Evergreen State College with a degree in saxophone performance and jazz studies. William began focusing on ukulele in 2005 after a trip to Hawaii changed his perspective on what this small instrument could do. He found the ukulele a relatively untapped instrument full of possibilities. After attending masters classes from world famous ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro William has focused on applying jazz and flamenco guitar approaches to the ukulele while respecting traditional Hawaiian music. William has been publicly performing music since the age of 10 and began teaching music lessons at the the age of 15. Since then he has done work as diverse as polka clarinet for weddings to pop guitar session work for major motion pictures.
