Music Center Big Band

Come and enjoy the big band experience. This group performs music from the big band era to contemporary songs of today. Students have the opportunity to develop improvisation skills as well. A second group may be formed if student interest warrants it. Instructor permission required.

Adult Saxophone Ensemble

$194/term

An ensemble class for saxophonists with at least one year of experience. Less experienced players may be interested in our adult saxophone class.

Beginning Tango Ensemble

$160/term
Thursday 7:30 - 8:30 pm

In this ensemble we will explore tango in its most traditional root in Buenos Aries, Argentina. We will focus on the tango, milongas, and waltzes, and will learn comping patterns, performance practices, and specific articulations used in the style. Ensemble will perform at the end of the term. Open for piano, bass, woodwinds, strings, and accordion. Must be able to read music.

Hildman Strings

$115/term or $300/year

Participants learn musical style and orchestral technique through preparation of advanced string orchestra literature. Join us for our 28th season!

Advanced high school players are invited to participate with permission of the director. There are no auditions, but regular attendance at rehearsal, home practice of parts, and participation in performances is expected.

Oak Lake Strings

$140/semester, $250/year

Formerly the Intermediate String Orchestra, this fun group is for those who are new to the orchestral experience, only moderate technical skills are needed. The music is graded at a level less advanced than Hildman Strings and represents all musical styles from Bach to Pop. There is an informal concert on the last day of each semester.
