We offer 4 different types of Music Together® classes:
Music Together® Mixed-Age
Birth to Age 5
A class for mixed ages, our Music Together® classes introduce children to basic musical, concepts through songs, rhythm rhymes, movement, and instrument play. The classes are relaxed and non-threatening.
Music Together Big Kids®
5 to 7 year olds
As a parent, you may be making choices about extracurricular activities that complement their new school experiences and support their growth — in music and in life. The Music Together Big Kids® program helps your child take the next step in music development by blending the elements of Music Together® that parents and children love with new activities, skills, and challenges that are developmentally appropriate.
Music Together Babies®
Birth to 8 months
This babies class is designed to teach parents how to promote their child's musical development through appropriate singing and movement. Parents will learn to recognize their baby's response to music and how to develop music as a basic life skill.
Music Together® Guitar for Grown-ups
Guitar Class for Grownups is designed for parents and caregivers of children currently enrolled in Music Together. In this 60-minute class, you'll learn to play selected songs from the current song collection so you can make even more beautiful music at home. This class accommodates both beginners who have never held a guitar and those who already have some skill.
Our mission is to provide the highest quality music and movement experiences to as many young children as possible and to involve their parents and other adult caregivers, including early childhood professionals.
All of our teachers have successfully completed Music Together’s training program. Janice Gockel and Monica Allen have completed their Certification I training signifying that an instructor understands, conveys, and accurately implements Music Together's instructional goals. Vicki Boeckman and Aubrey Zoli joined us in 2016 as registered teachers. Tara Neill most recently has joined us as well. We are ready to rock along with them. David Shere will be leading the Guitar Class for Adults. Come play along with us!
Music Together applies the latest research in early childhood music development to the program. A curriculum pioneer since 1987. These are some of the comments we've received from students and their caregivers:
"We have thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Musically, it's brought out wonderful things in my child that continue at home and in the car."
"I have been attending Music Together classes at Music Center of the Northwest for 7.5 years and have loved it every single semester."
"I love the CD's to share the music with other kids and watch my child dance whenever it comes on. Thanks!"
