Workshops are intensive sessions that range in length from an afternoon to an entire week. Besides the Messiah Sing-and-Play Along in December, most workshops are held during the summer term. (Past workshops have included the Haydn Workshop, annual Suzuki Violin Workshop, the Kids Sing & Play Workshop, Beginning Band Camp, Every Child Can, and more.)

2017 Yamaha Intensive Brass Workshop

The Yamaha Intensive Brass Workshop is designed for serious high school brass players that have a solo prepared and ready to perform (age exceptions may be made for exceptional 8th graders and young college students, please ask). Yamaha Performing Artist Allen Vizzutti, International Trumpet Soloist, will perform and give a class on the first evening of the workshop. Workshop founder Ryan Schultz, Principal Tuba with Pacific NW Ballet Orchestra, will lead a faculty of other area college instructors (including Judson Scott, University of Puget Sound, Trumpet) giving classes on brass fundamentals of playing, solo preparation and etiquette, and, among other topics, college audition preparation. Students will practice performing their solos and also perform in some brass ensembles as well. Students will need to pack a lunch. Pizza dinner is provided on Wednesday night.
